Past fellows have mostly been Harvard undergraduate, masters and graduate students, as well as postdocs. We occasionally accept students from other Boston-area universities, and non-student professionals are welcome to apply, especially to the summer fellowship.
Which fellowship should I pick?
Technical if you're comfortable with basic machine learning and want to read research papers. Policy if you're interested in governance and strategy, with no technical background needed. AI × Biorisk if you have a life-science background. You can take more than one.
How much time does it take?
One two-hour session a week for nine weeks, with dinner or lunch provided.
How competitive is it?
We usually receive several hundred applications a semester and accept around half.
