Past fellows have mostly been Harvard undergraduate, master's and graduate students, as well as postdocs. We occasionally accept students from other Boston-area universities, and non-student professionals are welcome to apply, especially to the summer fellowship.
Which fellowship should I pick?
Technical if you want to read machine learning research (some ML background is a plus). Policy if you're interested in governance and strategy (no technical background needed). AI × Biorisk if you want to understand how AI is changing biological risk (an AI or life-science background is a plus). You can take more than one.
How much time does it take?
One two-hour session a week for nine weeks, with meals provided.
How competitive is it?
We usually receive several hundred applications a semester and accept around half.
